Warranty

Two warranties, from two different companies

We put both in writing and tell you who stands behind each.

  • The material warranty

The shingle or panel maker backs the product against manufacturing defects. The terms, the period and any limits are in their paperwork, and we hand it to you.

  • The system warranty

Some makers extend coverage when a roof is built with their matching parts by an enrolled contractor. We write down the program and tier we register, with the date.

  • Our workmanship warranty

We back our own installation for the number of years written on your contract. It covers our work, not storm damage or wear.

Reading the fine print

What “lifetime” means

Shingle makers use the word lifetime. It means less than it sounds, so here it is in plain words.

  • Whose life

The life of the warranty holder's ownership of the house, not the roof's.

  • What is covered

Manufacturing defects. Not wind, hail, wear, poor ventilation or bad installation.

  • The catch

Payouts often shrink after the first years, and some terms carry only once to a new owner.
